Description
An ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) ring binder is a specialized binder designed to safely store documents within an electrostatic protected area (EPA). Unlike standard plastic binders, which can generate and hold static electricity that may damage sensitive electronic components, ESD binders are made from anti-static materials that dissipate charge. Key features Static-dissipative material: ESD binders are constructed from static-dissipative polymers, such as vinyl or polypropylene, which are treated to prevent the buildup of static electricity. Wipe-clean surface: The outer covering is often a wipe-clean, permanently anti-static PVC, ensuring long-lasting protection and durability. ESD logo: To prevent accidental use outside of an EPA, these binders are clearly marked with a yellow or black ESD warning symbol on the spine and front cover. Grounding capability: In some designs, static charges are removed to the ground through a grounding process. Compliance with standards: These binders are manufactured to meet industry standards for static control, such as BS EN 61340-5-1 or IEC-61340-5-1.
