Air Conditioner Condenser

A condenser (or AC condenser) is the outdoor portion of an air conditioner or heat pump that either releases or collects heat, depending on the time of the year. Both split air conditioner and heat pump condensers are made of the same basic parts.A condenser's function is to allow high pressure and temperature refrigerant vapor to condense and eject heat. There are three main types: air-cooled, evaporative, and water-cooled condensers.A condenser isn't only found in a central AC system. It's also built into a window AC unit. Here, the condenser coils are located in the back near vents that let hot air escape. In a split system, the condenser is in the outdoor unit along with the compressor (it is also located outdoors in a ductless AC system).
