Adiabatic Cooler

Adiabatic cooling systems function similarly to dry cooling systems, but with the incorporation of pre-cooling pads; running water over pre-cooling pads and drawing air through the pads depresses the ambient dry bulb of the incoming air. It is a water cooling system using closed circuit ambient air, which combines: Finned pack water-to-air heat exchanger (radiator) Axial fans for forced air convection. An adiabatic system for air pre-cooling during hot weather.An adiabatic process is defined as one of the thermodynamic processes which occur without any heat transfer between the system and the surrounding. Work done is due to the change in the net heat content in the system.The adiabatic system modulates the water released to the pad, thereby reducing the amount of water used compared to on/off-type controls. The adiabatic process provides more efficiency than a standard dry cooler; however, it is not as effective as an evaporative cooling tower.
