The process of covering the raw edges of wood panels with edging is called edge banding. The narrow strips are often referred to as simply “edging tapes”Edge banders are used to cover the exposed sides of materials such as plywood, particle board or MDF, increasing durability and giving the appearance of a solid or more valuable material.Edge bandings are classified into PVC, solid wood, and veneer. A veneer is then further classified into four major types: natural veneer edge banding, recon veneer edge banding, UV pre-finished edge banding, and rare veneer edge banding.
