A back bar fridge is a smaller refrigerator that fits easily behind a bar. The area behind the bar is often narrow and tight. Bars also tend to get busy with lots of foot traffic, as bartenders constantly move up and down the bar to serve customers.Contrary to popular belief, a bar fridge does not cool its contents by blowing in cold air. The way that a bar fridge works is by absorbing heat from inside the cabinet, and then transferring that heat to the outside of the cabinet. When enough heat is removed the contents of the fridge become icy cold.
