Storage tanks are containers that hold liquids, compressed gases (gas tank; or in U.S.A "pressure vessel", which is not typically labeled or regulated as a storage tank) or mediums used for the short- or long-term storage of heat or cold.If bitumen is overheated, it can have a serious effect on the properties of the material, impacting its usability. Overheating can also lead to the build-up of deposits inside the storage tank and increased emissions. For this reason, bitumen should be stored at a temperature of at least 30°C below its flash point.
