Horizontal Table Type Boring Machines

A horizontal boring machine or horizontal boring mill is a machine tool which bores holes in a horizontal direction. There are three main types — table, planer and floor. The table type is the most common and, as it is the most versatile, it is also known as the universal type.Horizontal earth boring is a trenchless construction process whereby a bore is formed underground, which is filled by casings that are jacked into position behind the cutting head. Horizontal earth boring is used to lay piping or utilities underground without opening a trench.Horizontal and vertical boring machines are defined by the orientation of their spindles. Horizontal boring mills keep workpieces stationary while tools turn to perform operations. Vertical boring mills utilize turning workpieces while the tools to remain stationary.
