Description

Single component silicone resin based, aluminum heat resistant coating. Excellent high temperature & thermal cycling resistance. Durable, Superior weathering resistance. Meets IS specification 13183/1991. Available two grades HHC (300) & HHC (600). Best in class performance. Z978 High Heat Coating is formulated with leafing alumin um pigment and silicone vehicle to provid e heat resistance from 300° to 600°C. This coating offers excellent weathering characteristics, plus, it resists mild industrial f umes. For exterior use, two coats are highly recommended. WHERE TO USE Z978 High Heat Coating may be used to coat exhaust manifolds, chimney’s, stacks, breechings, drying Iron kilns, incinerators, boilers, drying ovens, pipes, heat exc hangers, etc.; Not recommended for immersion service or on surfaces where continual heat is above 1,100° F (may discolor). The surface to be coated must be dry, clean a nd free of rust, mill scale, oil, grease, or any other surface contaminates that could affect proper adhesion. The coatin g life of Z979 High Heat Coat ing is dependent on the degree of surface preparation and correct surface profile. Use an abrasive aggregate that will pr oduce a b lasted profile that is 50% of the dry film thickness of the first coat. Abrasive * blast cleaning to SSPC-SP6 commercial blast is recommended. This High Heat Coating s hould be applied directly to the clean metal surface. APPLICATION Stir product thoroughly to assure uniform pigment dispersion. Z979 High Heat Coating be applied by brush, roller or spray, then after touch dry and before 24 hours, raise the coated surface temperature to between 230° C (min) upto 250°C (max) & hold for 1 hour. This is essential for heat curing of the binder & the long term durabil ity of the coating Heat resisting paint shoul d alway s be applied to bare metal to insure proper bonding. Two thin coats will out perform one heavy coat. Do not use this coating on surfaces that will exceed the hi gh temperature range or premature film failure discoloring will occur. FOR BRUSH APPLICATION: Usually no thinner is requir ed to be added. Use quality brus hes for paint application. Brushes made up of hog bristles are highly recommended. Size of the brush should be in proportion to the work in hand. Large size brushes (100-125mm) for large areas and small brushes (20-50mm) for narrow areas should be used. FOR AIR SPRAY APPLICATION: Thinner: Type HHC if required Nozzle Orifice: 1.2 - 1.4 mm Nozzle Pressure: 40 – 40 p.s.i. TEMPERATURE RESISTANCE: Sustained upto – 550°C Intermittent – 650°C NOTE: Formulated without mercury or lead.
