Bread Mould

​Rhizopus stolonifer is also known as bread mould because it is a black mould that grows on bread. It grows when the bread is exposed to air as the spores float around. If mould appears on bread, then it is considered to be spoilt.It is a genus of Fungi that falls under the phylum Zygomycetes (Phycomycetes), consisting of both saprophytic and parasitic species.
