Bridge Crane

A bridge crane is a type of crane that includes two overhead runways built into the building's support structure. A single or double girder configuration, called a bridge, moves the crane up and down the runways, and the trolley and hoist run side-to-side along the bridge.Bridge cranes typically span entire facilities and allow the users to lift, move, and position materials throughout the lifting area. On these types of cranes, the bridge can move while under load while the trucks and the hoist provide vertical and horizontal movement capabilities.An overhead crane, often referred to as a bridge crane is shaped like a moveable bridge whereas a gantry crane has an overhead bridge supported with it's own frame. Bridge cranes are attached to the interior structure of a building and are mounted onto the girders that support the roof and walls of the building.
