Description

A bucket elevator, also called a grain leg, is a mechanism for hauling flowable bulk materials (most often grain or fertilizer) vertically. In simple terms, bucket elevators vertically convey bulk materials. They are considered similar to conveyor belts, with the greatest difference being that bucket elevators move material using buckets attached to a rotating belt or chain.Bucket conveyors consist of endless chains or belts to which are attached buckets to convey bulk material in horizontal, inclined, and vertical paths. The buckets remain in carrying position until they are tipped to discharge the material. Various discharging mechanisms are available.Bucket elevator can handle a wide variety of materials. Due to this reason, they are constructed using durable materials such as stainless steel, carbon steel, and so on, which offer resistance against abrasion. The robust design structure allows them to elevate in all types of weather conditions.
