Basically there are two types : Tipping and Fixed Bulker.'Handysize' are the medium bulk carriers of between 24000 ~ 35000 DWT ( 130 - 150 m length & 10m draft ). They can carry cargoes to a large number of ports, may carry considerable variety and quantity of bulk cargoes. 'Handymax' bulk carriers of between 35,000 and 50,000 tonnes deadweight.The unloading process consists of the movement of the received goods from the container (trailer, rail car, or other delivery method) to the dock floor for proper checking. These goods can arrive on the floor of the container or on pallets. How they arrive helps determine what receiving method is deployed.
