Description

Dennison Wax Pick The Dennison Wax Pick is a tool used for evaluating the surface strength of paper and paperboard. Each Wax Pick is made of a hard resin that is non-oily, ensuring reliable results. A box contains 8 sticks, all of the same grade. This tool is simple, easy to use, and cost-effective. Technical Method for Use Heat the WaxesThe waxes are gently heated and then applied to the surface of the paper or paperboard sheet. Cooling PhaseAllow the wax to cool naturally after application. Testing the Surface StrengthOnce cooled, the wax is pulled from the sheet's surface. The test determines if the wax pulls fibers or coating material from the surface. Determine the Pick StrengthThe highest value of wax that does not rupture or damage the surface is recorded as the pick strength of the sheet. TECHNICAL METHOD FOR USE: Waxes are heated and applied to surface of the sheet. After cooling waxes are pulled from the surface of the shape. Wax is used to check if it has pulled fibre of coating from the surface. The highest value wax, which does not rapture the surface, is reported as the pick strength of the sheet
