A digital copying machine is made up of an input unit (scanner) for reading documents as digital data, a laser unit that uses laser light to form images based on the scanned data, and an output unit (printer) for printing the image formed.The document being photocopied on a digital copier is digitally scanned and saved into its memory. A laser is used to imprint the information on the drum, toner is applied, and the document is printed.The photocopiers primary function is to produce paper copies of a document. Most modern photocopiers use laser technology to do this, using electrical charges to transfer toner to a piece of paper to form an image.
