Cattle Feed Plant

Cattle feed contains protein, energy, minerals and vitamins required for the growth, maintenance and milk production of animals. It is advantageous to feed extra cattle feed to pregnant animals for proper development of foetus. It increases reproductive efficiency, milk production as well as fat content of milk.Jowar and bajra are the main Kharif crops, which are used as cattle feed. Generally, the plant stalks of bajra are fed to cattle, and jowar is primarily grown as fodder in several parts of the country."Fodder" refers particularly to foods or forages given to the animals (including plants cut and carried to them), rather than that which they forage for themselves. It includes hay, straw, silage, compressed and pelleted feeds, oils and mixed rations, and sprouted grains and legumes.
