A CNC profile cutter is a metal plate cutting machine that utilises plasma and or oxy-fuel cutting technology to cut through metal.CNC punching is the process of creating a hole or shape in metal by applying a high force through a tool and die, to shear or indent. This process is repeated using a variety of custom precision made tools to make a wide range of parts.This is a cutting process in which an ionized gas at temperatures of more than 20,000 °C is used to melt and get rid of the material from the cut. During this process, an electric arc is placed between an electrode (cathode) and the piece being worked on (anode).Although it does have some risks, yes you can rout stainless steel on your CNC router. The proper cutters for the job do work well but they do produce sparks and pieces of very hot metal coming off the cutter which is not ideal for a lot of factories that have flammable materials around.
