Compression molding is one of the oldest manufacturing techniques for rubber molding. The basic principle of Compression Moulding is that you have a pliable or dough-like material, sometimes in a preform or just in granules in two mould halves. You then apply pressure onto one half of the mould, compressing them together, and the product is formed in between the two mould halves.Rubber compression molding is a process where you take a preformed rubber material and place it into a cavity of a heated mold. You then close the mold in order to shape the preformed material using pressure and heat for a specific amount of time in order to cure the rubber.There are three commonly used different types of rubber moulding: Rubber injection moulding. Transfer moulding. Compression moulding.
