Material handling and industrial conveyors move products from one place to another such as throughout a distribution center or through various steps in the production process. These systems are seen in a wide variety of industries, from automotive to pharmaceutical.Unit handling conveyors are designed to handle packages, pallets, or any other unit format. They are used to transport large, discrete items that can be handled independently. There are many types of unit handling conveyors.Typically, conveyor systems consist of a belt stretched across two or more pulleys. The belt forms a closed loop around the pulleys so it can continually rotate. One pulley, known as the drive pulley, drives or tows the belt, moving items from one location to another.
