Cooling Tower Wooden Splash Bars

The wooden splash bars are of imported pine woods, chemically treated to arrest fungal or algae formations. The design incorporates accommodation of waters with very high TDS factors The hot water from the source when circulated to the collection basin with flower pot nozzles, are sprayed over the fill area.Instead of sheet surface, splash fills increase the water droplet surface. The splash fill breaks the water into smaller droplets, continually exposing more water surface to the airflow. The splash fill also allows the water to stay suspended allowing greater time exposure to the air.In the past, redwood was selected for use in cooling towers because of its high strength-to-weight ratio, availability, ease of use, low cost, and natural resistance to decay. Pressure-treated Douglas fir and similar types of wood are replacing redwood due to cost and availability factors.
