A dust collector is a system used to enhance the quality of air released from industrial and commercial processes by collecting dust and other impurities, A dust collector is a vessel or piece of equipment for the removal of dust from a gas. The collector uses a pulse-jet dust collector to capture explosive aromatic-hydrocarbon resin. Most of the fly ash is removed from the flue gas by a mechanical dust collector and an electrostatic precipitator.A dust collection system is an air quality improvement system used in industrial, commercial, and home production shops to improve breathable air quality and safety by removing particulate matter from the air and environment. Dust collection systems work on the basic formula of capture, convey and collect.The principle of working of a dust collector is the same for all types. In general, the collector uses several forces to separate the dust from the gas stream. These forces are centrifugal force, inertial force, and gravity. The separated solids move to a hopper where they are stored temporarily.Uses include: welding, machining, grinding, printing, woodworking, school shops, auto body, and many other applications. System can be used for ambient air cleaning or source capture. Media filter, and HEPA filter units are available. Units with adsorption/absorption capabilities are also available.Baghouse dust collectors use long, cylindrical bags (or tubes) made of fabric to filter dust and particles. In many cases, the dirty air enters the baghouse. From there, the process air is drawn through the bags where the particulate is collected on the outside of the filter and clean air passes through the filter.
