A multicore cable is a type of electrical cable that combines multiple signals or power feeds into a single jacketed cable. The term is normally only used in relation to a cable that has more cores than commonly encountered.A multicore cable, also known as multi-pair cable, is used for transmitting multiple signals or data streams within a single cable. They are commonly used in various applications, including audio, video, telecoms, networking, and industrial control systems.The core of the cable is the wire that is connected to the connector on, for example, a 5-pin plug. The core consists of a conductor (made of copper) that conducts electricity well. The wire therefore has a low resistance. Different colours are used to clearly indicate the type of function the wire has.
