Monophasic Defibrillator Machine

Monophasic AEDs are devices that emit a type of shock. It sends an electrical current in a single direction from an electrode on one side of the chest to an electrode on the other side. Monophasic waveform defibrillation has been used since the invention of AED devices.If you are using a monophasic defibrillator, give a single 360 J shock. Use the same energy dose on subsequent shocks. Biphasic defibrillators use a variety of waveforms and have been shown to be more effective for terminating a fatal arrhythmia.Biphasic shocks are more effective for endocardial defibrillation than monophasic shocks. For transthoracic ventricular defibrillation, biphasic and monophasic shocks are equally effective, but biphasic shocks require less energy for the same efficacy.
