Double Diaphragm Pump

An Air-Operated Double-Diaphragm pump (AODD) is a type of positive displacement (PD) pump. It consists of two pumping chambers that are alternately filled and discharged by the movement of flexible diaphragms.AODD pumps require no electricity and can be used in enclosed spaces or underground, which means they can operate safely and reliably in explosive environments when equipped with the proper provisions.Single acting pumps incorporate one diaphragm and one set of valves, and are characteristic of mechanical drive pumps. Double acting pumps, also known as double diaphragm pumps, incorporate two diaphragms and two sets of valves. Air-operated diaphragm pumps are characteristically double-acting.
