Diethyl Phthalate is a plasticizer largely used in the manufacture perfumery compounds, agarbatti (incense sticks) and as a fixative in the manufacture of perfumes, attar, etc., Diethyl phthalate plasticizer is also used in the processing of Cellulose Acetates. DEP is also used as a denaturant for Ethyl Alcohol. Diethyl phthalate plasticizer is a colorless and odorless liquid. It is soluble in most of organic solvents. Diethyl Phthalate (DEP) is insoluble in white/paraffin hydrocarbon oils. It is insoluble in water. Used as: Fragrance Evaporation Retardant, makes fragrances long lasting, by slowing evaporation.
