Audiology Booth

An audiometric booth is an audiology testing room, built with walls containing acoustic dampening materials in order to create a noise excluding test area where a patient can be seated in to conduct a hearing test.An audiology room, also known as an audiometric or auditory examination room, is specifically designed to provide an environment for accurate audiometric testing that meets the noise standards set by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).Ideally an audiometric test room should have a minimum internal space of 8m2 for clinical testing and assessment. This size is often increased, often up to as much as 24m2 (space permitting) for paediatric assessment and free field audiology. The size of the room can also play a part in optimising the acoustics.
