Description
An ERCoCr-A welding rod is a bare cobalt-based alloy filler metal (bare wire) that provides excellent resistance to mechanical and chemical degradation, galling, and cavitation erosion over a wide temperature range, ideal for hardfacing applications like valve seats, cutting tools, and turbine blades. It's used with processes like TIG (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) and oxy-acetylene welding to create high-quality, durable welds with high-wear properties on base metals including stainless steel. Key Characteristics Alloy Composition:ERCoCr-A is a cobalt-based alloy containing elements like chromium and tungsten. Performance:It offers exceptional resistance to wear, corrosion, galling, and cavitation erosion, even at high temperatures. Application:Commonly used for hardfacing, which is the process of applying a layer of wear-resistant material to a base metal. Base Metals:Bonds well with various weldable steels, including stainless steels. Machinability:The deposited weld metal is machinable with carbide tools.
