Hot water supply boiler means a vessel used to heat water for purposes other than space heating, where the water is used external to itself, at pressures not exceeding 160 psi, and/or temperatures not exceeding 250 degrees F.A steam boiler works to heat water to a boiling point in order to create steam. After this, the steam travels through a network of pipes to the radiators around your home. A hot water boiler, on the other hand, heats water just until it's hot enough. Steam boilers function by creating a combustion reaction by electrical ignition between air and fuel. This causes tubes within the boiler that are immersed in water to heat up. The heat raises the water temperature to about 212°F, the highest temperature at which water can still exist in liquid form at this pressure
