For those systems, the capacity is 500 liters per hour and the inlet flow rate is 550 liters per hour. By maintaining the rates, the equipment operates without interruption. It is possible for the system to process water with pH levels between 4 and 11. Due to the use of fiber reinforced plastic for the body material, the units do not degrade when they encounter corrosive substances and they function for a long duration. As the technology recovers between 90 % and 95 % of the water, the process decreases the amount of water that is discarded. On average the units weigh between 100 and 150 kilograms, which prevents the equipment from moving during use. If a facility requires water that contains very low levels of impurities, this process is used because it does not require chemicals.
