Commercial Moving Walkway

A moving walkway, also known as an autowalk, moving pavement, moving sidewalk, people-mover, travolator, or travelator, is a slow-moving conveyor mechanism that transports people across a horizontal or inclined plane over a short to medium distance. Moving walkways can be used by standing or walking on them.Moving walkways come in one of two basic styles: pallet type or moving belt. Pallet type moving walkways are built from a series of connected metal plates that are joined together to form a walkway. Pallet type moving walkways are essentially flat elevators.A moving walkway, also known as a travelator, is essentially the “people” version of a traditional conveyer belt. These walkways move passengers through long airport terminals and departure gates. While riding a moving walkway, passengers can either stand still, or keep walking on it. a sidewalk constructed on the principle of an endless belt or a series of such belts side by side and moving at different gradated speeds so that a person stepping on it will be carried along.
