A coffee maker is described as a plug in appliance that pushes hot water through coffee beans to create coffee. A coffee maker is composed of a heating plate on the bottom, a glass pitcher to catch the coffee in, a water reserve tank, a cup of to hold coffee grounds, and a tube to tie this all together. Ever wonder who invented the coffee maker? The short answer is Bentz in 1908. Bentz created the first drip coffee maker using a filter she made out of blotting paper. Water is heated just like in a drip machine and it then flows from a reservoir and into a coffee basket. The coffee that has been brewed will then be dispensed one cup at a time and this is how commercial coffee machines work
