The term Cold room, as generic as the name may sound, refers to a specially built room, chamber or an enclosure that is well-insulated or lagged so as to prevent direct thermal flow out of the room.A cold room is a type of insulated, refrigerated space that is designed to maintain a set temperature. They're used in professional kitchens to store food, as they can hold a lot of stock and can vary in size from a small walk in room to a larger warehouse.There are two main types of refrigeration system associated with coldrooms. Integral refrigeration has the system mounted on the cold room itself whereas remote refrigeration has it sited away from the cold room. Integral refrigeration can be wall or ceiling mounted and is most suitable for well-ventilated areas only.
