Description
INCONEL alloy 690 is a high-chromium nickel alloy with excellent resistance to many corrosive aqueous media and high-temperature atmospheres. The alloy's high chromium content gives it excellent resistance to aqueous corrosionby oxidizing acids (especially nitric acid) and salts, and to sulfidation at high-temperatures.In addition to its corrosion resistance, alloy 690 has high strength, good metallurgical stability and favorable fabrication characteristics.STANDARD PRODUCT FORMSPipe, tube, plate, round bar and forging stock.MAJOR SPECIFICATIONSUNS N06690ASTM B 163, B 166 – B 168,B 564, B 829ASME Code Cases 2083,N-20, N-525ASME SB-163, SB-166 –SB-168, SB-564, SB-829Werkstoff Nr. 2.4642ISO 6207, 6208, 9723ISO NW6690LIMITING CHEMICAL COMPOSITION, %Nia.........58.0 min.Cr....... 27.0 – 31.0Fe.........7.0 – 11.0C...........0.05 max.aPlus Co.Mn........0.50 max.S........ 0.015 max.Si..........0.50 max.Cu........0.50 max.PHYSICAL CONSTANTS AND THERMAL PROPERTIESDensity, Ib/in3.........................................................................0.296g/cm3......................................................................... 8.19Melting Range, °F...................................................2450 – 2510°C....................................................1343 – 1377Specific Heat, Btu/lb•°F.....................................................0.107J/kg•°C............................................................ 450Permeability at 200 Oersted (15.9 kA/m).....................1.001Coefficient of Expansion, 10-6 in/in•°F (μm/m•°C)70-200°F (21–93°C)...................... 7.80(14.0)70-1000°F (21–538°C).................8.53 (15.4)70-1600°F (21–970°C).................9.38 (16.9)Thermal ConductivityA, Btu•in/ft2•h•°F.....................................84W/m•°C.............................................. 12.1Electrical ResistivityA, ohm•circ mil/ft...................................691μΩ•m...................................................1.15Young’s ModulusA, 106 psi.................................................... 30.6GPa........................................................... 211Poisson’s RatioA....................................................................... 0.29HardnessA, HRB...........................................................................85ARoom temperature, as aged.TYPICAL MECHANICAL PROPERTIES
