Polyurethane is a polymer commonly used for producing insoles, mid soles or out soles in the footwear industry. This article is describing thermo setting polyurethane used for out soles but there are also thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) widely used as well with slightly different properties. Polyurethane is used in footwear to provide the perfect combination of ergonomics, micro climate, and comfort.
