Glass Elevator

Background: Glass elevator is defined as the rapid promotion of men to upper positions in certain professions in which women comprise the majority, such as nursing.The glass escalator refers to the way men, namely heterosexual white men, are put on a fast track to advanced positions when entering primarily female-dominated professions. It is most present in "pink collar" professions, such as those in hands-on healthcare work or school teaching.There are two different operation options with glass elevators: Pneumatic vacuum elevators and cable elevators. Pneumatic elevators operate by using air pressure to lift the elevator car. The elevator cab has a vacuum seal built into the ceiling.
