Glass Wool

Glass wool is an insulating material made from glass fibres. These fibres are arranged using a binder into a texture similar to wool. This process traps small pockets of air between the glass, which give the final product its superior thermal insulation properties.Glass mineral wool is a type of mineral wool insulation. It is a flexible and fibrous insulation material that can be used as both thermal insulation and acoustic insulation in a range of different applications.Common glass fiber is readily available commercially in a variety of different chemical compositions. Most glass fibers are silica based (∼50–60% SiO2) and contain a host of other oxides of calcium, boron, sodium, aluminum, iron, etc. They are commonly used for reinforcement of thermosetting and thermoplastic polymers.
