Manganese Steel Plate

Manganese Steel Plate (also known as Hadfield Steel or Mangalloy) is a unique and specialized austenitic steel plate defined by its high alloy content, typically 11% to 14% manganese, and its phenomenal ability to work-harden when subjected to impact and abrasion. Initially delivered with a relatively low hardness (around 200 Brinell), this plate will rapidly develop an extremely hard surface layer (up to 500-600 Brinell) when repeatedly struck or compressed, while the underlying core remains highly ductile and tough, enabling it to absorb severe shock loads without fracturing. This self-renewing, non-magnetic material is therefore indispensable for heavy-duty, high-impact applications in the mining, construction, and rail industries, serving as crusher liners, excavator bucket teeth, railway points and crossings, and shot-blasting equipment linings.
