The plunger is a rod or piston used to inject molten metal into the die cavity during high-pressure die casting. The use of this rod helps in forcefully inject the molten metal at the right speed and pressure into the die cavity.Die casting is a metal casting process that involves feeding molten nonferrous alloys into dies under high pressure and at high speed to rapidly create molded products. The main materials used in die casting are alloys of aluminum, magnesium and zinc.The plunger assembly consists of a Teflon piston attached to a piston rod. The outer rim of the piston is expanded outward with an embedded quad ring. The piston is resistant to wear and provides sealing for prolonged usage if handled and maintained properly.
