In a hospital, a stretcher is a device used to carry a person who must lie flat and can't move on their own. It takes two strong people to carry a patient on a stretcher. A Stretcher or Gurney is a wheeled bed that is used in emergency rooms and medical facilities in general to transfer patients. A lot of stretcher beds come with the capability of height, wheels, track, and frame adjustments.They are used to transport a body from one place to another in the safest and most efficient way possible for both the patient and the medical personnel involved. Medical stretchers have always been used to benefit both the injured and those needing to transport the injured.
