Hot Rolled (HR) Steel Sheets are industrial grade flat steel sheets with a rectangular cross-section. They are manufactured at elevated temperatures on rolling mills from steel slabs or billets.As indicated above, the main difference between hot rolled steel and cold rolled steel is the temperature at which they are processed. Hot rolled steel is rolled above the material's recrystallization temperature, whereas cold rolled steel is rolled below the material's recrystallization temperature.Metal sheets in coil form are flat products wound into rolls and having a rectangular cross-section, the width of which is much larger than the thickness. A distinction is drawn between hot- and cold-rolled sheet.
