P20 a versatile steel commonly used in the production of large mould frames & bolsters. Characterised by good toughness at moderate strength levels, P20 tool steel is a highly versatile engineering material. The alloy is a pre-hardened plastic mould steel and provides unified hardness across wide sections.P20 Mold Steel is a versatile, low-alloy tool steel that is characterized by good toughness at moderate strength levels. The steel is commonly used for plastic injection mold cavities and tooling and for die casting dies for zincP20 tool steel, also known as AISI P20 mold steel, is a low-alloy, chrome-moly alloy steel. The chemical composition of P20 steel includes: Carbon: 0.28–0.40% Chromium: 1.4–2.0% Iron: 97% Manganese: 0.60–1.0% P20 steel is used to make plastic molds and die blocks. Variations of P20 steel P20+S: A variation of P20 steel that contains silicon, phosphorus, and sulfur P20+Ni: A variation of P20 steel that contains nickel, chromium, and molybdenum Heat treatment The heat treatment temperature, rate, and cool and soak times for P20 steel depend on the size and shape of the steel component. Forging below 870°C is not recommended for P20. After forging, P20 steel should be cooled in sand.
