Lightning Strike Recorder

A lightning strike recorder is an electronic device that detects and counts the number of direct lightning strikes on a lightning protection system. It operates by using a current transformer or inductive loop to sense the electromagnetic impulse from a strike and a pulse counter to register the event. These recorders are installed on the down conductor of a structure to provide data for monitoring the effectiveness of protection systems, performing maintenance, and assessing risk.
