Hydraulic Goods Lift Cylinder Single Acting

A single-acting hydraulic cylinder includes just one port. This is where the hydraulic fluid enters and forces the plunger out in one direction. A double-acting cylinder includes two ports. One for the hydraulic fluid to enter and extend the plunger, and the other for retracting the cylinder. Single acting cylinders work where either a push or a pull force is required, so the hydraulic fluid only acts on one side of the piston rod. Another force (such as gravity, the weight of the load or a spring), operates the cylinder in the other direction.
