Description
Automatic ice makers in modern refrigerators are a popular convenience feature. They use electric motors, valves, timers and thermostats to control filling, freezing and emptying the ice-making trays. Once ice has been frozen, the ice maker dumps it into a holding bin where people can take it out for use.Cube ice machines are commonly seen as vertical modular devices. The upper part is an evaporator, and the lower part is an ice bin. The refrigerant circulates inside pipes of a self-contained evaporator, where it conducts the heat exchange with water, and freezes the water into ice cubes.Ice machines work to produce a batch of ice through a process known as adiabatic cooling. When a highly pressurised substance expands, the change in pressure causes the substance to cool quickly. It's the same reason why the pressurised air you use to clean your keyboard becomes cold when you hold down the trigger.Place the ice container/bin under the ice maker, pushing it as far back as possible. Lower the wire signal arm to its “down” or ON position. Normal ice production is about 2.5 to 3 pounds of ice every 24 hours depending on usage (unless just installed – may take a little longer) or about 8 cubes every 80-160 minutes.
