High temperature furnaces are another type of laboratory furnace that capable of reaching higher temperatures between 1400°C up to 1800°C. A high temp furnace typically consists of heating elements located on both sides of the heating chamber to ensure good thermal uniformity.The furnace temperature is maintained at around 1200 to 1250°C. Forging furnaces, use an open fireplace system and most of the heat is transmitted by radiation.
