Temperature lowering achieved by any other means may also be called cooling. The transfer of thermal energy may occur via thermal radiation, heat conduction or convection.The extrusion process has a water bath or spray system in which the hot plastic being extruded is immediately immersed. The bath or spray is connected to a chilled water system which creates the necessary heat transfer to solidify the plastic.In process cooling, the temperature and flow of the liquid will depend on the need of that particular process in removing heat from the process. The temperature of the fluid can range from -20°F or -29°C. This will have to be determined during the design of the cooling processes in tandem with the equipment.
