Automatic Ribbon Blender

Ribbon Mixers are a specific type of powder blenders that consist of 2 parts mounted on a central shaft . The mixing medium often consists of inner and outer helical ribbons that are designed to move material both inwards and outwards.Ribbon blenders get their name from the ribbon agitator that makes up part of their design. A U-shaped horizontal trough makes up the rest of the structure of a ribbon blender. The ribbon agitator within the blender is made up of a set of inner and outer helical blades.Ribbon Blender consists of a “U” form or “W” shaped horizontal trough containing double helical ribbon agitator that rotates inside. This light duty model is well suited for solid materials such as powders and other fluids with low shear capacity.The principle involved in ribbon blender is shear, which is supplied to the material (powder bed) by the rotating blades. Along with shear, convective mixing also occurs.
