Ribbon Blend Mixture

Ribbon Mixers are a specific type of powder blenders that consist of 2 parts mounted on a central shaft . The mixing medium often consists of inner and outer helical ribbons that are designed to move material both inwards and outwards.Ribbon blenders get their name from the ribbon agitator that makes up part of their design. A U-shaped horizontal trough makes up the rest of the structure of a ribbon blender. The ribbon agitator within the blender is made up of a set of inner and outer helical blades.Ribbon Blender is a light duty blender maily used for easy to mix powder components which are pre-processed like dried granules, pre-sieved powders etc. It is a LOW SHEAR mixer and mostly used for SOLID / SOLID Mixing.The name "ribbon" was later purported to have originated from an early design idea by which commands were placed on a long pane that could be rolled like a medieval scroll; the name was retained after the scrolling mechanism was replaced by tabs.
