SMD LEDs stand for Surface Mount Device and Light Emitting Diode. The combination of these acronyms indicates electronic components made up of LED modules that are mounted directly on one side of the printed circuit board using surface mount technology, known as SMT.Light Emitting Diode (LED) lights are one of the most popular fittings for swimming pools. As a greater emphasis has been placed on energy-efficiency, LED technology has become a standard feature slowly replacing incandescent bulbs.The power source and light bulbs are housed in a dry power box away from the pool. The lighting travels from that box to the pool by flexible fiberoptic cable that connects to fittings in the pool wall. When a bulb needs to be changes or there is maintenance issue, just open the dry power box and handle it.
