Description

The liquid limit test measures the water content at which soil changes from a plastic to a liquid state. The test is performed using a standard cup and a grooving tool to create a separation in a soil sample. The cup is then dropped, and the number of blows required to close the separation is counted. The liquid limit is the water content at which the separation closes after 25 blows.
