Loctite 242 Threadlocker is a medium-strength, blue anaerobic adhesive that locks and seals threaded fasteners, preventing them from loosening due to vibration and shock. It is characterized by its medium viscosity, thixotropic nature (preventing migration after application), and quick fixture times. The adhesive fully cures within 24 hours, strengthens the assembly, and seals against leaks and corrosion, while still allowing for normal disassembly with standard hand tools. It is ideal for 6-19mm metal fasteners and can be used on less active surfaces like stainless steel and plated surfaces.
